Driver

About the role

The Driver will provide reliable and secure transportation services for UNDP/OCHA staff and visitors, ensuring safe travel and efficient handling of documents and mail. The role includes vehicle upkeep, compliance with safety regulations, and support for humanitarian operations.

Key responsibilities

• Drive office vehicles for transport of authorized personnel, delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items.
• Meet official personnel and visitors at the airport and assist with visa and customs formalities when required.
• Maintain day‑to‑day vehicle condition through minor repairs, oil changes, tire checks, car washing and coordination of major repairs.
• Ensure availability of vehicle documents, insurance, logs, maps, first‑aid kit and spare parts.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections, monitor fuel and fluid levels, and coordinate scheduled servicing.
• Report and manage vehicle accidents in accordance with UNDP procedures.
• Perform other duties supporting UN/OCHA operational requirements.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary education.
• Valid driving licence.
• Minimum two years’ experience as a driver with a safe driving record.
• Ability to drive safely in mountainous and swampy conditions.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
• Basic vehicle maintenance and minor repair skills.
• Experience driving for international organisations or NGOs (desired).
