Director of Operations Sudan

About the role

ZOA, an international humanitarian NGO, is seeking a Director of Operations for its Sudan programme. Based in Gedaref with possible relocation to Khartoum, the role starts as soon as possible and reports to ZOA headquarters in the Netherlands.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all operational activities of ZOA in Sudan, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s mission and strategic objectives.
• Coordinate programme implementation, logistics, finance and administration across field sites.
• Manage staff performance, recruitment and capacity‑building initiatives.
• Maintain liaison with local partners, authorities and donors to ensure compliance and effective collaboration.
• Monitor operational budgets and resources, providing regular reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in operations management within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Strong understanding of NGO structures, multi‑country coordination and emergency response.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
