Information Management Analyst

About the role

The incumbent will provide expertise in data science, information management, and data visualization to support both the Food Security and Agriculture Unit's analytical agenda and the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) unit's data management needs in Sudan.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, manage and maintain SQL‑based databases for food security, market, livelihoods and early‑warning datasets.
• Compile, analyse and interpret food security data from internal and external sources, identifying trends for assessments and estimates.
• Collaborate with geospatial specialists to integrate remote‑sensing and GIS data into crop monitoring and climate impact products.
• Design, develop and maintain interactive dashboards (Power BI, Tableau) to visualise MEAL indicators and programme results.
• Provide technical guidance on KOBO Toolbox form development, mobile data collection and basic training for staff and partners.
• Support digitalisation of reporting processes, automate data flows and ensure real‑time availability of information.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, user guides, data‑flow diagrams and technical documentation for digital systems.
• Ensure data quality, security and compliance with GDPR and national data‑protection regulations.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, GIS or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in data management, statistical analysis, database administration and information management.
• Working knowledge of English and Arabic (Level C).
• Sudanese national.

Required skills

• Data‑visualisation tools: Tableau or Power BI.
• Mobile data‑collection platforms: KOBO Toolbox.
• Geospatial analysis software: QGIS, ArcGIS.
• Statistical programming: R, STATA, Python.
• Database management and SQL.
• Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
