Education Officer – Fixed-Term Position in Port Sudan

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Education Officer on a fixed‑term basis to support the delivery of education programmes in Port Sudan, Sudan. The role will contribute to the design, implementation and monitoring of interventions aimed at addressing the severe education crisis affecting millions of children.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme development and planning for education initiatives in emergency contexts.
• Contribute to the preparation and updating of situation analyses and needs assessments.
• Design and coordinate education interventions that prioritize equity and inclusion.
• Collaborate with government authorities, NGOs and community partners to ensure effective programme delivery.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on programme performance and impact.

Required profile

• University degree in Education, International Development, Humanitarian Affairs or a related field.
• Relevant experience in education programming, preferably in humanitarian or conflict‑affected settings.
• Strong understanding of the Sudanese education context and equity principles.
• Ability to work in a challenging environment and adapt to rapidly changing conditions.
