Area-Based Coordination Coordinator – Sudan

About the role

CARE is seeking an experienced Area‑Based Coordination (ABC) Coordinator for Kordofan, Sudan. The role will lead coordination efforts across South, North and West Kordofan, bringing together NGOs, UN agencies, private sector actors and local responders to improve joint analysis, service mapping and prioritized humanitarian response.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and strengthen the ABC platform in Kordofan, ensuring effective collective action among humanitarian actors.
• Facilitate joint analysis, service mapping and prioritisation of needs across the region.
• Coordinate with INGOs, NNGOs, UN agencies, private sector and local responders to align strategies and actions.
• Support the Collective Sudan Consortium (CCS) and other coordination mechanisms.
• Travel up to 50% to field locations as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian coordination or related fields.
• Strong strategic thinking and collaborative leadership abilities.
• Fluency in English (language requirement).
• Ability to work in complex, rapidly evolving humanitarian contexts.
