About the role
The National HMA Technical Field Manager supports the Operations Manager in planning, implementing, and monitoring humanitarian mine action (HMA) activities across Sudan. The role provides technical guidance, builds capacity of national staff, and ensures compliance with International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) and Sudan NMAS.
Key responsibilities
- Support local partner in recruitment, training, and supervision of survey and clearance teams, ensuring accreditation and ongoing skill development.
- Plan and coordinate mine action operations, including needs assessments, baseline surveys, data analysis, and quality assurance of field reports.
- Maintain liaison with NMAC, local authorities, community leaders, and other mine‑action organisations to facilitate smooth implementation and acceptance of activities.
- Prepare inputs for work plans, operational reports, donor reporting, and contribute to new project proposals and budgets.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years experience in non‑technical survey (NTS) and clearance within humanitarian mine‑action programmes.
- IMAS EOD Level 2 qualification and strong knowledge of International Mine Action Standards.
- Experience conducting quality assurance as part of a quality‑management plan.
- Ability to work in remote environments for extended periods and fluency in English and Arabic.
