Senior Cost Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join our finance team in Khartoum. The role focuses on developing cost accounting systems, analysing variances and supporting budgeting to drive cost efficiency across our manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures.
• Analyse and optimise operational costs.
• Prepare and analyse cost variance reports, identifying improvement opportunities.
• Conduct product and service costing and inventory valuation.
• Support budget preparation and forecasting processes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop standard costs.
• Contribute to cost‑reduction strategies.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
• Assist in training and developing junior accountants on costing systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and methodologies.
• Proficiency with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• CMA, CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
