Programme Manager – Humanitarian Operations

About the role
Save the Children is seeking a Programme Manager to lead a complex humanitarian programme in North Kordofan and Central Darfur, Sudan. Reporting to the Director of Program Operations, you will oversee a EUR 2 million budget and ensure effective delivery of nutrition and food‑security interventions across two regions.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the multi‑location programme, coordinating activities implemented directly by Save the Children in North Kordofan and through the international partner ACF in Central Darfur.
- Oversee financial management, including budget tracking, procurement planning, and donor compliance for the full programme and the EUR 900 000 sub‑budget managed by ACF.
- Facilitate regular coordination between Save the Children, ACF, government health and nutrition authorities, research institutions, and private‑sector partners.
- Monitor programme performance, quality, and impact, producing briefing materials, updates, and technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Travel frequently to Central Darfur to support implementation, address operational bottlenecks, and strengthen partnership collaboration.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing large‑scale humanitarian programmes in conflict‑affected settings.
- Strong understanding of nutrition, food security, and health sector coordination mechanisms.
- Demonstrated ability to work with international NGOs, government bodies, and research partners.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
Required skills
- Financial oversight and budgeting for multi‑million‑euro programmes.
- Procurement planning and donor compliance management.
- Monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) methodologies.
- Coordination within Nutrition and Health clusters.
