Head of Program Implementation (HPI)

About the role

The Head of Program Implementation (HPI) leads the delivery of Save the Children programmes in North Darfur, ensuring compliance with donor agreements, humanitarian standards and organisational policies. Reporting to the Area Director – Darfur, the HPI manages field teams, budgets, finance, supply chain and human resources to achieve strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee programme and grant management, including planning, resourcing, monitoring, and reporting for all field projects.
• Coordinate inter‑departmental communication and lead weekly/monthly review meetings with support functions.
• Ensure compliance with procurement, finance, HR, fleet, warehousing and safeguarding policies, and act as the senior Safeguarding Focal Point for North Darfur.
• Maintain the master budget, enforce financial controls, and support cash‑count processes.
• Lead risk mitigation planning and manage the use of organisational assets such as offices, guesthouses and vehicles.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale humanitarian programmes and donor‑funded projects.
• Strong knowledge of Save the Children policies, safeguarding standards and humanitarian best practices.
• Ability to lead multi‑disciplinary field teams and coordinate with support departments.
• Experience in financial oversight, budgeting and risk management in complex operational settings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the DATIX reporting system for safeguarding and incident management.
