General Manager

About the role

The General Manager will lead all activities of Saaeid Logistics in Sudan, overseeing humanitarian logistics, emergency food aid, and the construction of prefabricated shelters. Reporting to the CEO, the role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on operational management in a challenging environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a growth‑balanced strategy that positions Saaeid as a leading partner for UN agencies and NGOs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including UN agencies, NGOs, and public sector entities.
• Manage and strengthen the existing local team of 20 staff, handling recruitment and performance development as needed.
• Establish and oversee internal processes for operations, finance, security, and logistics.
• Take accountability for resource allocation, decision‑making, and embodying Saaeid’s core values.

Required profile

• Senior humanitarian professional transitioning into a commercial leadership role.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in humanitarian emergency contexts, with a proven track record working with UN agencies and NGOs.
• Professional experience in Sudan is mandatory.
• Demonstrated ability to represent organisations to donors and authorities.
• Self‑starter with high autonomy and strong managerial capabilities.
• Experience in trucking and warehousing is a plus.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
