Content Moderator (Trust and Safety Specialist)

About the role

The Content Moderator (Trust & Safety Specialist) will safeguard our platform by reviewing user‑generated text, images and videos, ensuring they comply with community standards, legal requirements and policy guidelines. Working remotely, you will handle high‑priority queues and complex edge cases that require human judgment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and act on reported content across multiple formats, maintaining a minimum 95% accuracy rate.
• Monitor daily queues to detect emerging abuse patterns and promptly escalate to the Policy team.
• Provide feedback on moderation tool performance and suggest workflow improvements to increase speed without compromising quality.
• Participate in calibration sessions to ensure consistent policy application.
• Investigate removal or suspension appeals, making fair reinstatement decisions.
• Serve as the designated responder during “red‑alert” incidents such as graphic live streams or coordinated harassment campaigns.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in content moderation, trust & safety operations or community management for a major tech/social media platform.
• Strong emotional resilience and proven strategies for maintaining digital wellness while reviewing disturbing material.
• Deep understanding of regional cultural nuances and the ability to differentiate hate speech from protected political expression.
• Demonstrated ability to process 80‑100+ content items per hour while preserving attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with moderation platforms such as Hive, Besedo and Salesforce.
• Experience using Google Workspace for collaboration and reporting.
• Ability to spot subtle policy violations that automated systems miss.
