WASH Officer (NO-2) – Gadaref, Sudan

About the role

The WASH Officer will support UNICEF’s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programme in Gadaref, Sudan. Reporting to the Chief of Field Office or a WASH Specialist, the incumbent will provide technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of WASH programme outputs.
• Draft updates for WASH situation analysis and contribute to outcome and output result formulation.
• Research and report on WASH trends to inform programme design and monitoring.
• Prepare technical reports, inputs and documentation ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Support the execution of technical programme transactions and compliance with UNICEF management systems.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in water, sanitation, hygiene or related field.
• Experience in humanitarian or development contexts is preferred.
• Ability to work under supervision of a WASH Specialist and collaborate with government authorities.
