About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Senior Manager to lead its Emergency Cash and Basic Needs programme in Darfur, Sudan. This fixed‑term position (ending 31 December 2026) will ensure rapid, high‑quality cash assistance and basic‑needs support for populations affected by crisis.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical and operational support for planning, implementing and monitoring multipurpose cash assistance, emergency business grants and group cash transfer programmes.
- Contribute to concept notes, technical proposals, activity plans and budgets.
- Oversee day‑to‑day programme activities, onboarding, training and performance feedback for programme staff.
- Lead needs assessments, market analyses and sectoral studies in collaboration with partners.
- Develop detailed work plans with clear objectives, timelines, benchmarks and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with IRC policies, donor agreements and internal regulations.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing emergency cash or basic‑needs programmes in humanitarian settings.
- Strong ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including donors, partners and local authorities.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead and mentor programme teams.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
