Risk & Compliance Manager

About the role

The Risk & Compliance Manager will ensure that DRC Sudan’s operations adhere to internal procedures, donor requirements and local legislation. Reporting to the Country Director and senior management, the role promotes a culture of risk awareness and compliance across all programmes and locations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct risk mapping, assessments and internal audits to identify and mitigate operational risks.
• Develop and deliver capacity‑building plans on risk management and the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) accountability commitments.
• Prepare regular risk and compliance reports for senior management and the Country Director.
• Coordinate the dissemination of the Risk Management Framework in partnership with HQ Operations Advisors.
• Provide technical oversight of the in‑country Code of Conduct Mechanism and support its rollout and compliance.
• Ensure alignment of risk and compliance actions with DRC policies, donor mandates and Sudanese law.

Required profile

• Proven experience in risk and compliance management within a humanitarian or NGO setting.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance requirements and local regulations in Sudan.
• Ability to work closely with senior managers, area managers and field staff.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and capacity‑building skills.
• Familiarity with the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) and Code of Conduct mechanisms.
