Protection Officer – Humanitarian Programme

About the role

Trócaire is seeking a Protection Officer to manage grants, provide technical oversight and support partners in delivering humanitarian assistance in South Kordofan, Sudan. The role is based in Kurchi and involves frequent travel to programme locations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage grants to local partners and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
• Provide capacity‑building assistance and technical oversight for project implementation, monitoring, evaluation and learning.
• Support partners in data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Represent Trócaire at UN, NGO and coordination meetings at regional and national levels.
• Lead technical GBV trainings for partner staff and integrate GBV considerations into health, WASH and livelihood activities.
• Report to the Women’s Protection Coordinator and adapt the programme as needed.

Required profile

• Experience in grant management and technical oversight within humanitarian programmes.
• Proven ability to deliver GBV trainings and integrate protection measures across sectors.
• Strong capacity‑building and partnership support skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the region.
