National SBC Consultant (Health) – Remote, 6 months

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a National Social and Behavior Change (SBC) Consultant to provide technical support to Sudan's Ministry of Health. The consultant will work remotely for six months, embedded within the Ministry, to strengthen communication and community mobilisation around routine immunisation, vaccination campaigns and health emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, adaptation and rollout of SBC strategies for polio outbreak response and routine immunisation.
• Assist in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating communication and social mobilisation activities.
• Strengthen the capacity of key stakeholders, including health workers, religious leaders and community influencers.
• Develop targeted communication materials to address vaccine hesitancy and misinformation.
• Provide technical guidance for zero‑dose reduction activities in low‑performing states.

Required profile

• Proven experience in SBC, health communication or public‑health campaigns.
• Experience working with government ministries or large NGOs in low‑resource settings.
• Strong understanding of immunisation programmes and community engagement.

Required skills

• Technical expertise in designing and implementing SBC interventions.
• Ability to produce evidence‑based communication strategies.
• Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks for health campaigns.
