Information Management Officer

About the role

The Information Management Officer will support the design, development, and implementation of information management systems that align with DRC’s MEAL strategy and programme needs in Sudan. Working under the MEAL Manager and closely with the Coordination‑level IM Specialist, the officer will ensure data from vulnerability assessments, case management and indicator tracking is collected, cleaned, stored and shared effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the IM Specialist in creating a country‑specific information management system for data storage, analysis and dissemination.
• Develop and maintain digital tools (e.g., Kobo) for mobile data collection and faster M&E reporting.
• Ensure data quality through cleaning, structuring and validation processes.
• Improve database management using online and offline solutions and promote interoperability across datasets.
• Facilitate knowledge management by documenting and sharing project learning and evidence.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and represent DRC in coordination forums on information management.

Required profile

• Experience in humanitarian or development settings, preferably within MEAL or data management functions.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to data quality and usability.
• Ability to work collaboratively with programme and MEAL teams.

Required skills

• KoboToolbox for mobile data collection.
• Data cleaning and structuring techniques.
• Database management (online/offline).
