Information Extraction Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an Information Extraction Specialist to design, build and maintain extraction pipelines that turn unstructured documents into structured, high-quality datasets. The role combines natural language processing, machine-learning modelling and rule-based techniques to serve diverse domains such as legal, medical, financial and technical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end information extraction pipelines for various document types.
• Create and manage high-quality training datasets, define sampling strategies and lead annotation teams.
• Evaluate model performance using precision, recall, F1 and conduct error analysis to drive continuous improvement.
• Assess, integrate and customize open-source and commercial extraction tools and platforms.
• Develop automation scripts and workflows to streamline the extraction process.
• Adapt extraction systems to new domains quickly by building accurate guidelines and domain knowledge.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in information extraction, NLP or computational linguistics.
• Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to diagnose model errors and propose data-driven solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, capable of documenting complex guidelines.
• Experience leading annotation projects and defining clear, unambiguous extraction schemas.

Required skills

• Python programming for data analysis and NLP tasks.
• Proficiency with NLP libraries such as spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face Transformers and Stanford CoreNLP.
• Knowledge of evaluation metrics (precision, recall, F1) and methodology for extraction tasks.
