Health & Nutrition Manager, Eastern Sudan

About the role

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Health & Nutrition Manager to lead humanitarian health initiatives in Eastern Sudan. The role blends program leadership, technical coordination with the Ministry of Health, and on‑the‑ground supervision of staff.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Sudanese Ministry of Health and WHO to align project activities with national clinical protocols.
• Lead and support both Samaritan's Purse and Ministry of Health clinical teams throughout program implementation.
• Collaborate with the International Health Unit on program design, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Develop proposals, logical frameworks, budgets, educational materials, and outreach campaigns.
• Manage emerging health and nutrition emergencies as they arise.
• Supervise 5‑8 senior staff, handling recruitment, training, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) or equivalent.
• Minimum five years’ experience managing health programs in the NGO sector.
• Proven ability to write technical reports and work in remote, austere environments.
• Strong knowledge of health and nutrition best practices and WHO clinical protocols.
• Preferred but not required: twelve credit hours of Biblical Studies.
