Health & Nutrition Advisor – Sudan

About the role

CARE is seeking a senior Health & Nutrition Advisor to shape and lead its health and nutrition portfolio in Sudan. The role combines strategic leadership with technical expertise to influence national humanitarian response, strengthen health systems, and ensure high‑quality services for women, girls, and vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the strategic direction for health and nutrition programming in Sudan.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure evidence‑based, high‑impact interventions.
• Coordinate with national authorities, donors, and partners to mobilize resources and align efforts.
• Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams, fostering a high‑performing work environment.
• Monitor and evaluate program performance, ensuring compliance with CARE standards and donor requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in humanitarian health and nutrition programming, preferably in complex emergencies.
• Proven ability to influence policy and mobilize donor investments.
• Strong understanding of health systems strengthening and gender‑responsive approaches.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
