Group Chief Financial Officer – Islamic Banking

About the role

The Group Chief Financial Officer – Islamic Banking will shape the financial strategy of a leading banking group in Sudan, advising the GCEO, Board and Executive Management on profitability, investments, capital allocation and long‑term decisions. The role oversees budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial resilience across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Group’s financial strategy and act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership.
• Direct group‑wide budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, management reporting and consolidation.
• Oversee liquidity, funding, capital adequacy, cash flow, treasury activities and financial risk.
• Ensure compliance with banking, accounting, taxation and regulatory requirements, including Shariah considerations for Islamic products.
• Establish finance governance across international branches, drive audit remediation, systems improvement, automation and data governance.
• Develop and sustain a high‑performing Group Finance function through succession planning and talent development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, ACA, CIMA, CFA) strongly preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, preferably in banking or financial services, with senior finance leadership in a regulated, multi‑entity environment.
• Proven track record in group consolidation, regulatory engagement and external audit at Board level.
• International and Islamic banking experience, with knowledge of AAOIFI standards, is highly desirable.
