Finance Officer

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking a Finance Officer to provide technical and operational finance support to its field offices and local partners across Sudan. The role ensures compliance with DRC financial policies, standard operating procedures, and donor requirements while strengthening partner financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Process banking and petty cash transactions, maintain cashbooks, and perform cash, bank, and ledger reconciliations.
• Review payment documentation for accuracy and compliance, and upload all financial records to the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics) and SharePoint.
• Support internal and external audits by supplying required documentation and addressing any gaps.
• Monitor budget allocations, process rebookings, and prepare financial reports for management.
• Review partner financial reports, upload verified expenditures to Dynamics, and conduct monitoring visits to ensure proper financial tracking.
• Maintain robust archiving of all financial documents and support donor audits related to partner‑managed funds.

Required profile

• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in finance or accounting within an NGO or humanitarian context.
• Ability to work independently and liaise effectively with program staff and partner finance focal points.
