Field Accountant

About the role

The Field Accountant will join Samaritans Purse’s International Projects team in Port Sudan, supporting humanitarian operations through accurate financial management and transparent reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Record all payable and bank transactions, manage cash advances and field expense reports.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure financial transparency.
• Prepare timely financial statements and donor‑grant reports that meet internal policies, field accounting standards, and external audit requirements.
• Collaborate with Area Coordinators, project managers, and operations staff to provide financial guidance and cover Finance Manager duties when needed.
• Facilitate smooth audit processes and monitor contracts for rentals, facilities, and vehicles.
• Interact with beneficiaries—including children, youth, and at‑risk adults—to promote wellbeing and safeguard welfare.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.
• One to two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ as a consistent witness.

Required skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
