Communications Analyst

About the role

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Sudan is seeking a Communications Analyst to lead the development and implementation of a Strategic Communications Plan. The role supports UNDP’s post‑conflict recovery agenda, enhances public and media outreach, and mobilises political and financial support for development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that showcases UNDP’s impact and aligns with donor expectations.
• Lead and supervise the Communications Team, fostering collaboration and effective planning.
• Coordinate with programme, operations, UN agencies, government officials, donors, and civil‑society partners to ensure consistent messaging.
• Oversee media relations, public outreach, and the production of communication materials.
• Provide strategic advice to senior management on communications issues and opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic communications within an international or development context.
• Strong understanding of media landscapes and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and navigate post‑conflict settings.
