Area-Based Coordination Coordinator, Sudan

About the role

Collective Sudan (CCS), a nexus partnership hosted by Prosper Global that brings together 19 national and international organizations around a harmonized cash-plus approach, is looking for an Area-Based Coordination Coordinator. The role is Collective Sudan's main focal point for engagement with Area-Based Coordination (ABC) structures across Sudan, supporting coordination through facilitation, technical accompaniment, learning, information sharing, relationship building and resource mobilization. It works with ABC coordinators, local responders, consortium members, UN agencies, donors and other stakeholders, and does not manage ABC structures directly.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee Collective Sudan's support to ABC initiatives, ensuring responsiveness to priorities set by ABC coordinators and stakeholders, and deliver on commitments, reporting and funded activities.
• Lead portfolio workplans, performance monitoring frameworks and adaptive management, keeping activities aligned with donor requirements and evolving humanitarian needs.
• Support ABC coordinators in identifying their operational, administrative, advocacy, information management, evidence and resourcing needs, and connect them to support, partnerships and resources.
• Strengthen links between sub-national coordination and the national humanitarian architecture, and represent state-level ABC coordinators in national coordination mechanisms.
• Facilitate joint planning, response analysis and gap identification at sub-national level, working with and avoiding overlap with ABCs, the INGO forum and OCHA.
• Promote localization and meaningful participation of national and local actors in coordination.
• Promote the generation, synthesis and use of evidence, and help turn local priorities and community analysis into broader humanitarian learning, planning and policy discussions.
