Program Director

About the role

World Relief is seeking a compassionate and strategic leader to serve as Program Director for its Sudan operations. Reporting to the Country Director and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, you will oversee a multi‑sector humanitarian portfolio in a complex, conflict‑affected environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all programmatic activities, ensuring high‑quality, accountable, and compliant delivery.
• Develop and refine the country program strategy, balancing immediate humanitarian response with long‑term resilience building.
• Integrate cross‑cutting considerations such as protection, gender, disability inclusion, accountability to affected populations, and environmental safeguards.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, HR, and logistics to align resources and processes with program goals.
• Lead program design and proposal development, securing new funding and strengthening partnerships.
• Represent World Relief on coordination platforms and influence sectoral decision‑making.

Required profile

• Demonstrated commitment to humanitarian principles and advocacy for vulnerable populations.
• Strong leadership experience in multi‑sector program management, preferably in conflict‑affected settings.
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions and with external partners.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
