MEAL Coordinator – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

Welthungerhilfe is seeking a MEAL Coordinator to lead performance monitoring and learning for its 2026–2030 Country Strategy in Sudan. The role ensures rigorous, ethical, and protection‑sensitive monitoring, evaluation, accountability and data management across programmes, while embedding learning and adaptive management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation and periodic review of the Country MEAL Strategy and action plan, aligned with WHH Sudan’s Country Strategy, organisational standards and donor requirements.
• Establish and strengthen country MEAL standards, procedures, tools and quality‑assurance mechanisms for WHH and partner‑implemented programmes.
• Provide evidence‑based advice to senior leadership on programme performance, quality risks, evidence gaps and adaptation opportunities.
• Translate the Country Strategy into an integrated performance and learning framework and coordinate regular portfolio performance and programme quality reviews.
• Offer technical leadership and quality assurance across programme design, theories of change, logframes, indicators, sampling, data‑collection tools, AAP and evaluation requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience coordinating monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning in development or humanitarian programmes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop MEAL staff and strengthen partner capacity.
• Strong analytical mindset with capacity to translate data into actionable recommendations for senior management.
• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
