MEAL Coordinator – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

Welthungerhilfe is seeking a MEAL Coordinator to lead performance monitoring and learning for its 2026–2030 Country Strategy in Sudan. The role ensures rigorous, ethical, and protection‑sensitive data management while supporting evidence‑informed decision‑making across food‑system, climate‑resilience, and humanitarian programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and periodically review the Country MEAL Strategy and action plan aligned with organisational and donor standards.
• Establish and strengthen MEAL standards, procedures, tools and quality‑assurance mechanisms for WHH and partner‑implemented programmes.
• Provide evidence‑based advice to senior leadership on programme performance, quality risks and adaptation opportunities.
• Translate the Country Strategy into an integrated performance and learning framework and coordinate regular portfolio reviews.
• Lead technical quality assurance across programme design, theories of change, logframes, indicators, sampling, data‑collection tools and evaluation requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience coordinating Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop MEAL staff and strengthen partner capacity.
• Strong analytical skills with experience translating strategic objectives into measurable indicators.
• Familiarity with protection‑sensitive data practices and ethical research standards.
• Ability to provide strategic advice to senior leadership and adapt programmes based on evidence.
