Environmental Health/WASH Coordinator

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a solutions‑driven Environmental Health (EH)/WASH Coordinator to lead the implementation of EH/WASH programming in South Kordofan’s R1 region. Based in Kamuleila, the role will provide technical and strategic leadership, ensuring high‑quality services that meet the immediate needs of vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Deputy Director of Programs to develop and implement a response aligned with the Sudan Strategic Action Plan.
• Oversee technical aspects of EH/WASH program delivery, ensuring projects meet objectives, indicators, donor requirements, and beneficiary needs.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, and performance, providing regular reports to senior management.
• Lead field teams, facilitate training, and ensure compliance with IRC standards and humanitarian best practices.
• Travel regularly to field sites across South Kordofan to supervise activities and engage with communities.

Required profile

• Solutions‑driven and passionate about creating positive change in humanitarian contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical and strategic leadership for EH/WASH programs.
• Willingness to travel frequently to remote field locations.
• Experience overseeing implementation of EH/WASH projects in conflict‑affected settings.
