Hotel General Manager

About the role

Brites Management Services is recruiting a full-time Hotel General Manager in Juba. The role provides overall leadership and direction across all hotel departments, sets commercial and financial strategy, and ensures high standards of service and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Heads of Department, setting objectives, KPIs and performance expectations, and resolve complex operational issues
• Develop commercial strategies to maximise revenue, occupancy and profitability, working with Sales, Marketing, Revenue and Operations teams
• Monitor revenue, operating expenses, payroll, procurement and other financial indicators, and work with Finance on budgets, forecasts and management accounts
• Monitor guest feedback, complaints and satisfaction, and personally oversee the resolution of escalated concerns
• Lead, coach and develop the management team and wider workforce, supporting recruitment, training and performance management
• Build relationships with owners, corporate clients, partners, suppliers and regulators, and represent the hotel at industry events
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, licensing and hospitality requirements, and manage operational, financial and commercial risks

Required profile

• Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or a related field
• 8+ years of progressive hotel management experience with strong senior leadership
• Experience managing Heads of Department and multiple departments in a full-service property
• Track record in commercial management, revenue generation, financial performance and cost control
• Understanding of Rooms Division, F&B, Sales & Marketing, Engineering and support functions

Required skills

• Knowledge of hotel PMS/POS systems and management reporting is an added advantage
• International or regional hotel management experience is an added advantage
