Emergency Specialist (P-3) – Fixed Term – Kosti, Sudan

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an Emergency Specialist (P-3) on a fixed‑term basis to lead emergency preparedness and response activities in Kosti, Sudan. The role supports the survival and well‑being of children, mothers, and affected communities during crises, working under the supervision of the designated manager.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate emergency interventions in line with UNICEF’s humanitarian standards.
• Coordinate country‑office emergency preparedness activities and ensure rapid response when emergencies arise.
• Collaborate with partners, government agencies and other stakeholders to deliver timely assistance.
• Prepare situation reports, assessments and recommendations for senior management.
• Ensure that interventions prioritize the most disadvantaged and uphold UNICEF’s equity strategy.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Social Science, Public Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, International Law, Nutrition, International Relations, Emergency Management, Development Studies or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in humanitarian emergency response, program management or related areas.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment and under pressure.
