MEAL Coordinator – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

Welthungerhilfe is seeking a MEAL Coordinator to lead performance monitoring and learning for its 2026–2030 Country Strategy in Sudan. The role ensures rigorous, ethical, and protection‑sensitive data management while supporting adaptive management across humanitarian and development programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and periodically review the Country MEAL Strategy and action plan aligned with organizational and donor standards.
• Establish and strengthen MEAL standards, procedures, tools and quality‑assurance mechanisms for WHH and partner‑implemented programmes.
• Provide evidence‑based advice to senior leadership on programme performance, quality risks and evidence gaps.
• Translate the Country Strategy into an integrated performance and learning framework and coordinate regular portfolio reviews.
• Lead technical quality assurance across programme design, theories of change, logframes, indicators, sampling, data‑collection tools and evaluation requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., International Development, Social Sciences, Statistics) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven experience managing MEAL teams and building capacity of partners.
• Strong understanding of food systems, climate resilience, equitable partnerships and localisation.

• Knowledge of protection‑sensitive and ethical data collection practices.
• Ability to translate findings into actionable recommendations for adaptive management.
