Information Management Specialist – Khartoum

About the role

The Information Management Specialist will provide technical leadership for UNICEF’s Information Management Hub in Sudan. The role focuses on identifying and GIS‑mapping vulnerable children affected by emergencies and disasters, as well as on routine data collection, centralisation and mapping to support situational monitoring, preparedness and effective humanitarian response.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the IM Hub in the localisation and GIS mapping of children at risk during emergencies.
• Oversee routine and administrative data collection, centralisation and mapping for real‑time monitoring.
• Ensure data quality, validity and reliability to support programme performance, targeting and coordination.
• Collaborate with country office teams to provide actionable information for child and women’s rights monitoring.
• Support emergency response coordination by delivering timely, accurate information on coverage and coherence of UNICEF programmes.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in information management, humanitarian data, or GIS mapping.
• Demonstrated ability to work in emergency contexts and with multi‑sectoral teams.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on data quality and usability.
