Health & Nutrition Manager – Eastern Sudan

About the role

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Health & Nutrition Manager to lead humanitarian health initiatives in Eastern Sudan. The role combines program leadership, partnership coordination, and on‑the‑ground supervision to improve health outcomes in line with Ministry of Health and WHO protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Sudanese Ministry of Health and other partners to implement health and nutrition activities.
• Lead and support both Samaritan's Purse and Ministry of Health clinical teams throughout program implementation.
• Collaborate with the International Health Unit on program design, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Develop proposals, logical frameworks, budgets, educational materials, and outreach campaigns.
• Respond to emerging health and nutrition emergencies as needed.
• Supervise 5‑8 staff members, handling hiring, training, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of experience managing health programs in the NGO sector.
• Proven ability to work in remote, austere environments.
• Strong knowledge of health and nutrition best practices and clinical protocols.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Optional: twelve credit hours of college‑level Biblical Studies.
