Head of Project – Sudan (Kassala)

About the role

As Head of Project Sudan you will lead the effective management and implementation of Welthungerhilfe’s projects in Kassala State, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and in line with donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and implement projects in line with donor requirements and Welthungerhilfe standards, covering planning, monitoring, budgeting, logistics, finance and administration.
• Continuously review and adapt project plans and budgets, reporting progress, challenges and risks to the Country Director/Area Manager.
• Build and maintain relationships with donors and stakeholders across humanitarian, rehabilitation and development programming.
• Recruit, manage and lead project staff, ensuring effective office management.
• Implement Welthungerhilfe policies, including security management and crisis preparedness.
• Represent Welthungerhilfe with national and international stakeholders and strengthen networks with civil society, government and academia.
• Support public relations, host visiting donors, staff and journalists, and ensure appropriate representation.
• Contribute to country strategy development, strategic planning and management discussions.

Required profile

• Higher university degree in Agriculture, Project Management, Community Development, Social Sciences or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in project coordination and management with an international organization.
• Proven experience in planning, leading and coordinating partners at field level.
• Experience managing teams and donor‑funded projects.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
