Head of Mission, Sudan

About the role

COOPI is seeking a Head of Mission to lead its operations in Sudan. The role will guide the organization’s response to vulnerable populations, including refugees, IDPs, returnees and other at‑risk groups, through an integrated approach covering WASH, food security, livelihoods and shelter.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate COOPI activities across Khartoum and North Darfur, ensuring effective delivery of life‑saving interventions.
• Oversee implementation of projects funded by AICS, the European Union and UN agencies.
• Integrate Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Action, Gender and Protection mainstreaming into all programmatic actions.
• Lead a team to address the needs of women, children, female‑ and child‑headed households, unaccompanied minors, the elderly and persons with disabilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with vulnerable populations in Sudan or similar humanitarian contexts.
• Strong knowledge of WASH, food security, livelihoods and shelter sectors.
• Familiarity with DRR, climate resilience, gender equality and protection principles.
• Ability to manage donor‑funded projects and collaborate with international partners.
